We visited two design holiday markets last weekend in Stockholm. One was Street, Street is called Sweden's answer to Camden Lock market in London and is located right on the water by Hornstulls Strand at Södermalm. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures from Street as most of the interesting stuff was in the indoor section of the market and it was super packed. I saw some pretty nice stuff though, like the silkscreened shirts from Fuldesign (Ugly-design) and T-shirtbutiken (see "Barntröjor = Children's shirts I wanted to get a monkey shirt for Ezra but they were out of his size).
The Christmas market at Konstfack, the main center for Arts and Design studies in Sweden, was more fun. It had less bric-a-bracs and more interesting stuff. It's always fun to see student work, and I also enjoyed the architecture of the buildings that used to be Ericsson's old phone factory but now are the home of Konstfack.

The woman below, Johanna Persson, designed beautiful and interesting jewelry and crafts. Here she's wearing some of her creations. A little "witchy" and wonderfully dramatic!

I loved the plates, cups and "pärlplattor" (plastic beads melted together by ironing) in crisp black and white designed by two women who called themselves Severina. (For fun, check out the "good-old" Pärlplatteklubben, "an organisation for people who love making pärlplattor". Might want to become a member..?)

Adorable silkscreened birdies on fabric designed by Helene Ekblom at Konstfack.

Another "attraction" was Tuttmemo, the game Concentration loaded with pictures of tits...

We bought a few things of course... A calendar, butter knives (of course), and these little booties for Leo, made by Helena Lindberg Form. The booties have come to be called "Glöggskorna" which means "The Glühwein (the spiced wine) shoes". He wears them now to every Glögg party we go to, and Ezra really appreciate that they have little gingerbread cookie hearts - pepp'kakor - on them ;-)
Happy Holidays!
